Community Development Foundation  The Community Development Foundation (CDF) is a non-departmental public body supported by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) which "aims to lead community development analysis and strategy in order to empower people to influence decisions that affect their lives."  They work across the community sector, offer training, advice, consultancy and funding, undertake research and produce publications.  http://www.cdf.org.uk

Creative Boom  A national web-based magazine for the creative industries set up by a young graphic designer which also features regional hub versions with Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham taking part.  Features news, jobs, blogs, galleries and more. http://www.creativeboom.co.uk

Creative and Cultural Skills  Creative and Cultural Skills is the Sector Skills Council for Advertising, Crafts, Cultural Heritage, Design, Literature, Music, Performing Arts and Visual Arts.  As well as providing strategic information on these sectors the website also provides information on qualifications and skills and links to their Creative Choices initiative which offers tools for building a career in the relevant sectors.  http://www.ccskills.org.uk

Inhabit  Inhabit was commissioned by Arts Council England and connects creative professionals looking for workspace with owners of available property across the UK. The website contains resources, a toolkit on creative workspace and a community so that you can search and download information, upload resources for others to view and engage in forum discussions.  http://www.creativeworkspace.info

Office for National Statistics - Neighbourhood Statistics pages  This is the place to go for statistics on the area your project or business is in, which can be helpful for funding applications, evaluation or market research and it is as easy as entering your postcode.  You can find out which Super Output Area you are in and what the levels of deprivation are for your area under headings such as income, employment, education, skills and training.  http://neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/dissemination

Planning Aid  This is a scheme funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government which works with people and communities to help them influence changes to their local areas by learning to understand and use the planning system.  Support starts with free initial advice to all and can go on to more detailed support which may have to be paid for depending on eligibility.  http://www.planningaid.rtpi.org.uk

SEYH (Social Enterprise Yorkshire and the Humber)  Represents, promotes and helps drive forward the social enterprise sector in Yorkshire and the Humber.  Full membership is free to social enterprises entitling you to vote at AGMs and nominate directors.  Has a useful website, including the opportunity for SEs to post job advertisements.   http://www.seyh.org.uk

Supply2.gov.uk  Supply2.gov.uk is the official government lower-value contract opportunity portal which provides small businesses with visibility of public sector contract opportunities typically below £100,000.  Initial registration is free for basic information with chargeable upgrades.  Opportunities on view are national and across a broad spectrum, but there are plenty of public art, video production and other relevant posts which may be of interest.  They also run training events on tendering skills.  http://www.supply2.gov.uk

Whippet on the Wire  A new on-line creative network for companies and individuals in the creative and digital sector in Yorkshire and the Humber and beyond.  The site is powered by 4iP and supported by Screen Yorkshire, offering you the opportunity to showcase your talent, make new contacts, flag up events and share knowledge and experience.   http://whippetonthewire.ning.com
